PS2 is still a factor and still sells well. Sony is juggling 3 major gaming devices in the market and I think they as a company know what's the best approach to making sure that each one remains a great option for consumers.
I would offer them advice, but I've never ran a company before. I trust their decisions and I know Sony is listening to their customers.
With this whole new pricing, I'm definitely buying two more PS3's.
One slim for my younger brother whose going to Princeton and another one for the family room downstairs. I can finally take my 60g to my room.

@meepmoopmeep: Yeah, the Uncharted 2 MP aspect only makes this game so much better in my book. Definitely overkill, lol. If you're on the fence about the game, it's not enough to resist Uncharted 2.

but I want to see what it looks like on consoles because I just read the Kotaku preview and they said it was running on a pc. Hopefully it'll look just as good.

It's good to know that MGS4 isn't just for MGS fans. I'm a hardcore MGS fan myself but knowing that all my friends (some Noobs to the Kojima Universe) will enjoy this game all the same, makes me even more excited.
I Guess it's Definitely a Game of The Year contender. Will see what the competition can bring.

if it wasn't for fanboys on either side bashing and bragging, companies would see no need for improving their product. But the way the author puts it, fanboyism just started out of no where with ps3 fans being the culprits. He fails to realize that fanboyism goes beyond consoles, beyond computers,... When competition first originated, fanboyism was born. So why should it end with us? Go and talk about the rivalry between Hillary and Obama and you'll witness even worse fanboys and fangirls.
